Regular Season Round 10: Istanbul DSI - Balikesir 77-56

There was a change at the TB2L leadership position after last games. Round 10 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Balikesir (7-3). They were crushed by sixteenth ranked Istanbul DSI (4-6) 77-56 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Balikesir. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-56. American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall, agency: Two Points) scored 26 points and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and center Dogan Deniz Yigit (197-89) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Pitts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Istanbul DSI's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Onur Sonsirma (190-85, agency: 1x1 Sports) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ogulcan Sevim (190-93) scored 12 points. Istanbul DSI moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Buyukcekmece. Balikesir at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Akhisar Bld and Ankara DSI Era. They were replaced at the leadership position by Darussafaka. Balikesir will play next round against league's leader Darussafaka trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Istanbul DSI will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked ITU Istanbul. It will be extra interesting game as ITU Istanbul is their local rival from Istanbul.
