Regular Season Round 10: LSU-Atletas - Siauliai 79-83

Very expected game in Kaunas where 9th ranked LSU-Atletas (3-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Siauliai (4-7) 83-79. The guests were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 21-12 last quarter charge of LSU-Atletas cut the lead to 83-79 at the end of the game. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to LSU-Atletas' 36. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jud Dillard (196-91, college: Tenn Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Chris Cooper (205-90, college: ODU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) replied with 28 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Vidmantas Sragauskis (200-86) added 21 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for LSU-Atletas. LSU-Atletas' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siauliai maintains fifth position with 4-7 record, which they share with Juventus. LSU-Atletas at the other side dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. Siauliai's next round opponent will be league's leader Tonybet in Prienai and it may be quite challenging game. LSU-Atletas will play at home against Lietkabelis (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
