Regular Season Round 11: Akhisar Bld - Pamukkale 78-66

Date: November 30, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Pamukkale (5-6) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Akhisar Bld (8-3) 78-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Akhisar Bld. Pamukkale was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pamukkale was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) helped adding 17 points and 7 assists. Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and Latvian guard Armands Skele (192-83) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Akhisar Bld moved-up to second place. Loser Pamukkale keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Akhisar Bld will face Final Genclik (#10) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pamukkale will play at home against Gelism and hope to win that game.
