No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Goettingen (5-5) beat on the road 10th ranked TG Neuss (3-7) 78-71 on Saturday. TG Neuss were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. TG Neuss were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (183-90) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Rickiesha Bryant (190-90, college: Tenn-Martin) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Shacondra James (172, college: Cent.Florida) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for TG Neuss. TG Neuss' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Goettingen moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser TG Neuss keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Goettingen will face Hannover (#6) at home in the next round. TG Neuss will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#7) and hope to win that game.
