Regular Season Round 11: Balikesir - Darussafaka 60-75

The game between Top Four teams took place in Balikesir. Second-ranked host Balikesir (7-4) lost to first ranked Darussafaka (9-2) 75-60It looked good early as Balikesir took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Darussafaka took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 15 points. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Darussafaka players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Lawrence Roberts (206-82, college: Mississippi St.) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Darussafaka players scored in double figures. American point guard D.J. Thompson (173-85, college: Appalachian St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) came up with 23 points and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and forward Hadi Dogan (200-86) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Balikesir in the defeat. Darussafaka maintains first place with 9-2 record. Balikesir at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Darussafaka's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul ITU Istanbul.
