Regular Season Round 8: TED Kolejliler - Aliaga 72-69

Fourteenth-ranked Aliaga (1-7) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked TED Kolejliler (6-2) in Ankara on Saturday. TED Kolejliler managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. Aliaga was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-22 charge of TED Kolejliler, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) who added 20 points and 9 assists during the contest. TED Kolejliler's coach Ercument Sunter used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) scored 17 points and 7 assists. TED Kolejliler moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Aliaga keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Mersin and Trabzonspor. TED Kolejliler will meet Tofas (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Aliaga will play against Olin Edirne (#11) and hope to win that game.
