Regular Season Round 10: Oberhausen - Bamberg 53-49

Date: November 30, 2013
Rather expected game when 12th ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (2-8) lost on the road to ninth ranked Oberhausen (4-6) 53-49 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 53-49. Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (168-86, college: S.Carolina) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Dutch forward Sharon Beld (186-88) supported her with 11 points. Even a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds by American point guard Taleya Mayberry (167-91, college: Tulsa) did not help to save the game for Don Bosco Bamberg. Her fellow American import center Brett Benzio (190-90, college: Tulane) added 13 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Oberhausen moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Saarlouis and Osnabruck. Don Bosco Bamberg lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Oberhausen will meet Eisvogel Freiburg (#10) on the road in the next round. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against TV Saarlouis Royals and hope to secure a win.
