Very predictable result when second ranked SV Halle Lions (7-3) won against at home 11th ranked Donau-Ries (3-7) 75-61 on Saturday. SV Halle Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Donau-Ries' 34. American point guard Amanda Rego (174-86, college: San Diego) notched 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Tiffany Porter-Talbert (177-84, college: W.Kentucky) supported her with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four SV Halle Lions players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by American Morgan Henderson (185-88, college: San Diego) did not help to save the game for Donau-Ries. Bulgarian power forward Dimana Georgieva (188-88) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. SV Halle Lions have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Wasserburg, which they share with Chemnitz. Donau-Ries lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Freiburg. SV Halle Lions will meet league's leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Donau-Ries will play against BC Pharmaserv Marburg (#4) and hope to secure a win.
