Regular Season Round 10: Mainz - Fellbach 90-45

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (6-4) outplayed at home 10th ranked Fellbach (2-8) 90-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. ASC Theresianum Mainz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Fellbach's 28. ASC Theresianum Mainz forced 31 Fellbach turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Fellbach's players. Quite impressive performance for Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (180-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her eight free throws). point guard Katharina Schnitzler (173-87, college: La-Monroe) contributed with 6 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four ASC Theresianum Mainz players scored in double figures. Croatian center Katarina Fofic (180) replied with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian guard Lauren Mortier (175-89) added 10 points and 4 steals in the effort for Fellbach. Fellbach's coach Iuliana Miulescu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. ASC Theresianum Mainz moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Heidelberg. Newly promoted Fellbach dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz will face Take-Off Wuerzburg (#6) on the road in the next round. Fellbach will play against TSV Amicitia (#8) and hope to win that game.
