Regular Season Round 11: Vestel - Pertevniyal 78-73

Everything went according to plan in Manisa where ninth ranked Vestel (6-5) beat 16th ranked Pertevniyal (3-8) 78-73 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 27-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Five Vestel players scored in double figures. Burak Can Yildizli (202-94) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Pertevniyal's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vestel maintains ninth place with 6-5 record. Pertevniyal lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Vestel will face Istanbul DSI (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pertevniyal will play against Buyukcekmece and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
