Regular Season Round 11: Gelisim - Antalya 106-78

Sixth ranked Gelism (7-4) crushed at home 10th ranked Antalya (5-6) by 28 points 106-78, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Gelism. Antalya was better in second period 29-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Antalya's 34. They outrebounded Antalya 38-16 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gelism shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Sertay Gursu (195-87) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) helped adding 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Gelism players scored in double figures. American guard Henry Antwan Dobie (183-78, college: LIU Brooklyn) responded with 25 points, 6 assists and 6 steals and center Ismail Esmeray (207-86) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gelism have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Antalya dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Gelism will face Pamukkale (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antalya will play against Yesilgiresun and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the TBL just one year after relegation.
