Regular Season Round 6: Bursa BSB - Mersin Univ. 57-77

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Bursa BSB (0-5) was crushed at home by top-ranked Mersin Univ. (6-0) 77-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mersin Univ.. Bursa BSB was better in fourth quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mersin Univ. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bursa BSB's 28. Mersin Univ. forced 26 Bursa BSB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bursa BSB's players. The best player for the winners was guard Ilknur Dumlu (176-89) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Ebru Agar (182-90) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Mersin Univ. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Seyma Kutun (-93) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and center Deniz Selin Ekiz (189-89) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mersin Univ. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 6-0 record. Loser Bursa BSB still closes the standings with five games lost. Mersin Univ. will face Kastamonu (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bursa BSB will play against Urla BLD in Izmir and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
