Regular Season Round 6: Kastamonu - Yakin Dogu 38-85

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Kastamonu (0-6) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Yakin Dogu (4-2) 85-38 on Sunday. The game without a history. Yakin Dogu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kastamonu to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Yakin Dogu held Kastamonu to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Yakin Dogu forced 34 Kastamonu turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Yakin Dogu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Kastamonu's players. The best player for the winners was guard Sirin Altuntabakli (173-83) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Forward Gulnur Sandallioglu (187-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Gokce Capar (-92) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds and Yagmur Dalman (-94) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Kastamonu's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Yakin Dogu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group C, which they share with Tekkekoy. Kastamonu at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. Yakin Dogu will face league's second-placed Mulkiye in Ankara in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kastamonu will play on the road against the league's leader Mersin Univ. (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
