Regular Season Round 8: Ferro-ZNTU - Halychyna 84-68

There was no surprise in Zaporozhye where 9th ranked Halychyna (3-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (5-3) 84-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferro-ZNTU. Halychyna was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard Anthony Marshall (190-91, college: UNLV) chipped in 22 points and 4 steals. Four Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Halychyna's coach Zeljko Lukajic tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Halychyna keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Ferro-ZNTU will face league's leader BC Donetsk on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
