Regular Season Round 8: BC Kyiv - DniproAzot 81-72

Date: December 1, 2013
Bottom-ranked DniproAzot (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-72 loss to eleventh ranked BC Kyiv (3-6) in Kyiv on Sunday evening. DniproAzot was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded DniproAzot 43-23 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import point guard Lee Humphrey (189-84, college: Florida) who added 26 points and 4 steals during the contest. Four BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. BC Kyiv's coach Igor Yatsenko used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St.) responded with 28 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and Georgian Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. BC Kyiv moved-up to tenth place. Loser DniproAzot still closes the standings with six games lost. BC Kyiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. DniproAzot will play against Cherkasy (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
