Regular Season Round 10: Chemnitz - Freiburg 80-66

Date: December 1, 2013
No shocking result in a game when third ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (7-3) beat at home 10th ranked Eisvogel Freiburg (3-7) 80-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by ChemCats Chemnitz. Eisvogel Freiburg managed to win fourth quarter 30-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Tina Menz (175-88) supported her with 21 points and 4 steals. ChemCats Chemnitz's coach Roland Senger used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) by American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA) did not help to save the game for Eisvogel Freiburg. Her fellow American import power forward Mariesa Greene (183-87, college: Barry) added 16 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. ChemCats Chemnitz have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Halle. Eisvogel Freiburg lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Donau-Ries. ChemCats Chemnitz will meet Rhein Main Baskets (#5) in the next round. Eisvogel Freiburg will play against Oberhausen (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
