Regular Season Round 10: P.Zvaigzdes - Tonybet 81-61

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Tonybet (8-2) in Pasvalys on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (6-4) 81-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tonybet. The game was mostly controlled by P.Zvaigzdes. Tonybet managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. P.Zvaigzdes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 14 points and 9 assists during the contest. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79, agency: XL Basketball Agency) responded with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) scored 12 points. Tonybet's coach Virginijus Seskus rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. P.Zvaigzdes moved-up to third place. Tonybet at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. P.Zvaigzdes are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lietkabelis (#11) in Panevezys in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tonybet will play at home against Siauliai (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
