Regular Season Round 12: Final Genclik - Akhisar Bld 69-63

The most important game in the last round took place in Bursa between second ranked Akhisar Bld (8-4) and tenth ranked Final Genclik (6-5) on Friday night. Akhisar Bld was defeated by Final Genclik in a tough game on the road 63-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Akhisar Bld won third quarter 29-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Final Genclik won last quarter 13-8. Strangely Akhisar Bld outrebounded Final Genclik 44-0 including a 12- advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 7 blocks and point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) added 25 points and 6 assists respectively. Akhisar Bld's coach Zafer Aktas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Final Genclik have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with I.T.U. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Final Genclik is looking forward to face higher ranked Gelism (#7) in Izmir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Akhisar Bld will play at home against Pertevniyal (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
