Regular Season Round 9: BC Donetsk - Ferro-ZNTU 89-68

Superleague top team - BC Donetsk (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Ferro-ZNTU (5-4) 89-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ferro-ZNTU. BC Donetsk players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international Denis Ikovlev (199-86, college: Nevada, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 17 points. Four BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. BC Donetsk's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. BC Donetsk maintains first place with 8-1 record. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Budivelnyk. BC Donetsk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro-ZNTU will play at home against Mykolaiv (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
