The game between second ranked Khimik (7-1) and 13th ranked Dnipro (1-7) in Yuzhny on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Khimik outscored guests from Dnepropetrovsk 97-64. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dnipro's 32. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Dnipro's players. American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 assists for the winning side and international center Artem Pustovyi (216-92) accounted for 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Khimik players scored in double figures. International forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) added 10 points respectively for Dnipro in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Khimik. They maintain second place with 7-1 record behind leader BC Donetsk. Dnipro lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Khimik will meet BC Odessa (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dnipro will play against Halychyna (#9) in Lviv and hope to win that game.
