Regular Season Round 9: Selcuk Univ. - Karsiyaka 84-98

Date: December 7, 2013
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Karsiyaka (7-2) won against 12th ranked Selcuk Universitesi (3-6) in Konya 98-84. The game was mostly controlled by Karsiyaka. Selcuk Universitesi was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Can Altintig (195-87) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) added 22 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Karsiyaka moved-up to second place, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Usak. Selcuk Universitesi lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Karsiyaka's next round opponent will be Galatasaray (#5) in Istanbul. Selcuk Universitesi will play on the road against Trabzonspor (#15) and hope to win that game.
