Regular Season Round 11: Steaua CSM - Rovinari 70-97

Rather predictable result in Bucuresti where sixth ranked CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (7-4) smashed 10th ranked Steaua CSM (5-6) 97-70. The game without a history. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Steaua CSM's 34 and made 25-of-25 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Steaua CSM 31-18 including a 24-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian center Ermin Jazvin (209-80, agency: The House of Baller!Stars) who led the winners and scored 24 points (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). American guard Louis Darby (196-84, college: Long Beach St.) accounted for 20 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Four CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Jamaican-Canadian guard Garry Gallimore (192-84) added 16 points respectively for Steaua CSM in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Steaua CSM keeps the tenth position with six games lost. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu will play against Farul Const. (#13) in Constanca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Steaua CSM will play on the road against U-Mobitelco in Cluj and hopes to get back on the winning track.
