Bottom-ranked Vaerlose managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against ninth-ranked Horsens 81-68. And what about a second win in a row after ...nine consecutive loses. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 46-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Vaerlose made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Horsens turnovers. It was a great evening for Safia Sheikh (177-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. American Devon Quattrochi helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. Forward Emily White (186-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and Bendicte Houmoller scored 15 points. Vaerlose (2-9) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Virum. Horsens lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Vaerlose will meet at home higher ranked Stevnsgade (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Horsens will play against Horsholm (#3) and hope to win that game.
