Regular Season Round 11: Wolfenbuettel - Oldenburg 67-91

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Oldenburg (6-5) smashed on the road 10th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (2-9) 91-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Oldenburg. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oldenburg dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Herzoege Wolfenbuettel's 40. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Jordan Reves (208-91, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Oldenburg's coach Mladen Drijencic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) produced 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Demetrius Ward (190-90, college: W.Michigan) added 25 points respectively for the hosts. Oldenburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place in Group North, which they share with SU Medien. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Oldenburg will face Spot Up Medien Baskets (#6) in Braunschweig in the next round. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play on the road against Recklinghausen (#7) and hope to win that game.
