Regular Season Round 16: SISU - Aalborg 100-89

Everything could happen in Copenhagen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked SISU and 7th ranked Aalborg had identical 4-7 record. This time SISU used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Aalborg 100-89. It looked good early as Aalborg took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then SISU had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Aalborg was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-100. SISU forced 19 Aalborg turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. SISU brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Joe Benjamin (200-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five SISU players scored in double figures. American forward Joe Burton (201, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian point guard Joey Haywood (185-84, college: St.Mary's) added 31 points in the effort for Aalborg. SISU (5-7) moved-up to fifth place. Aalborg at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. SISU's next round opponent will be higher ranked Horsholm (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
