Regular Season Round 12: Ruta-Univ. - Utena 73-93

Bottom-ranked Ruta-Univ. (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-73 loss to seventh ranked Utena (3-9) in Siauliai. Ruta-Univ. was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Utena made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Utena outrebounded Ruta-Univ. 49-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for international center Kristina Alminaite (205-90) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-92) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Utena players scored in double figures. Belarusian point guard Katsiaryna Kashlei (171-90) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Belarusian forward Tatsiana Khatsko (187-89) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ruta-Univ.Utena moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Jaunieji Talentai. Ruta-Univ. at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Utena will play against Jaunieji Talentai (#6) in Vilnius in the next round. Ruta-Univ. will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kibirkstis-VICI in Vilnius and hopes to get finally their first victory.
