Regular Season Round 12: BSW Sixers - Stade 90-86

Date: December 14, 2013
Everything could happen in Sandersdorf at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked BSW Sixers and 11th ranked Stade had identical 2-9 record. This time BSW Sixers used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Stade 90-86 on Saturday night. Stade was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 24-13 charge of BSW Sixers, which allowed them to win the game. They made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Stade was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Nate Gerwig (206-83, college: Kent St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Frieder Diestelhorst (201-87) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four BSW Sixers players scored in double figures. American guard Reggie Hopkins (180-88, college: Queens, NC) replied with 35 points (!!!) and center Markus Timm (205-88) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Stade. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BSW Sixers (3-9) moved-up to tenth place in Group North. Stade lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. BSW Sixers will face league's leader RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Stade will play at home against SC Rist Wedel (#4) and hope to win that game.
