An interesting game took place in Edirne where 8th ranked Tofas (5-5) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Olin Edirne (4-6) 82-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-78. Olin Edirne made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Tofas was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Greek forward Christos Tapoutos (203-82) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Marcus Denmon (190-90, college: Missouri) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Tofas' coach Ahmet Caki tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Olin Edirne moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Besiktas and Turk Telekom. Loser Tofas keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Olin Edirne will face Turk Telekom (#10) in Ankara in the next round.
