Regular Season Round 12: Timisoara - Cluj Napoca 62-61

A very interesting game took place in Timisoara. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked Cluj Napoca (2-10) to eleventh ranked Timisoara (4-7) 62-61 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cluj Napoca won third quarter 19-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Timisoara forced 26 Cluj Napoca turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Biljana Pesovic (180-83) who scored 25 points. Serbian guard Milana Zivadinovic (179-91) chipped in 12 points and 4 steals. Timisoara's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Hungarian center Judit Kajdacsi (192-79, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds and the former international center Florina Pascalau (196-82) added 14 points respectively. Timisoara moved-up to tenth place. Cluj Napoca lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Timisoara's next round opponent will be higher ranked CSM Targoviste (#3) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cluj Napoca will play against the league's second-placed Alba Iulia (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
