Regular Season Round 18: TiuMenas-Ezer. - Vilnius-MRU 79-77

The most exciting game of round 18 in the NKL took place in Moletai. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Vilnius-MRU (9-8) to fourth ranked TiuMenas-Ezer. (11-4) 79-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vilnius-MRU. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (200-82) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Nerijus Varnelis (201-78) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Antanas Udras (203-92) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Dovis Bickauskis (188-93) scored 19 points. Four Vilnius-MRU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TiuMenas-Ezer. maintains fourth position with 11-4 record. Vilnius-MRU at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. TiuMenas-Ezer. are looking forward to face Suduva-Mantinga (#11) in Marijampole in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vilnius-MRU will play on the road against Olimpas (#13) in Plunge and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
