Regular Season Round 18: Nafta Univers. - Zalgiris II 75-84

Rather expected game in Klaipeda where 12th ranked Nafta Univers. (5-12) was defeated by tenth ranked Zalgiris II (7-9) 84-75 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nafta Univers. won third quarter 28-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Lukas Lekavicius (176-94) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Antanas Montrimavicius (199-87) with 10 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and center Valentas Tarolis (205-91) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris II moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Zanavykas. Loser Nafta Univers. keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Zalgiris II will face higher ranked Delikatesas (#3) in Joniskis in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nafta Univers. will play at home against the league's leader Mazeikiai (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
