Regular Season Round 13: Balikesir - Ankara DSI Era 62-70

Date: December 14, 2013
Another interesting game for Ankara DSI Era (9-4) which played on the court of much higher ranked Balikesir (8-5). Fifth ranked Ankara DSI Era won 70-62. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Balikesir won third quarter 16-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ankara DSI Era won last quarter 23-16. Balikesir was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ankara DSI Era players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Juan Pattillo (201-88, college: W.Kentucky) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and forward Hadi Dogan (200-86) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Balikesir's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ankara DSI Era moved-up to second place, which they share with Akhisar Bld and Istanbul B.B. Balikesir at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ankara DSI Era will play against ITU Istanbul (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play against Maliye Milli (#16) in Ankara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
