There was an upset when higher ranked TG 1889 Sandhausen (4-7) was crushed at home by twelfth ranked Rhein MB II (3-8) 90-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rhein MB II. TG 1889 Sandhausen was better in third quarter 19-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rhein MB II made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Rhein MB II outrebounded TG 1889 Sandhausen 53-36 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Nadine Ripper (175-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Mara Greunke (186-91) helped adding 15 points and 15 rebounds. Four Rhein MB II players scored in double figures. Center Franziska Baumann (179-86) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jennifer Klett (179-84) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rhein MB II moved-up to tenth place in South, which they share with Jahn Muenchen. TG 1889 Sandhausen lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost.
