Regular Season Round 13: Telekom Bsk - Bayreuth 83-71

Very expected game in Bonn where 16th ranked BBC Bayreuth (3-10) was defeated by third ranked Telekom Bsk (9-4) 83-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-71. Telekom Bsk shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Bsk maintains third place with 9-4 record having just three points less than leader B.Muenchen, which they share with Ratiopharm and Art.Dragons. BBC Bayreuth lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Telekom Bsk will face EnBW Ludwigsburg (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BBC Bayreuth will play against Artland Dragons (#5) in Quakenbrueck and hope to win that game.
