Regular Season Round 10: Karsiyaka - Galatasaray 58-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Karsiyaka between third ranked Karsiyaka (7-3) and sixth ranked Galatasaray (7-3) on Sunday night. Karsiyaka was defeated by Galatasaray at home 71-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Karsiyaka. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Karsiyaka managed to win second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. At the losing side the former international guard Can Altintig (195-87) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) scored 7 points and 6 assists. Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Karsiyaka. Galatasaray is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Trabzonspor (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Karsiyaka will play against Fenerbahce Ulker (#5) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
