There was a surprise result in Kyiv where twelfth ranked Cherkasy (2-6) beat higher ranked Budivelnyk (5-5) 86-74 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Cherkasy dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Budivelnyk's 28. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. point guard Ronald Moore (183-88, college: Siena) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Jason Washburn (208-90, college: Utah) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Cherkasy's coach Volodimir Kholopov used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown, agency: Priority Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Cherkasy and four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Cherkasy maintains twelfth position with 2-6 record. Defending champion Budivelnyk keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Cherkasy will face Dnipro (#13) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round.
