We should mention about the upset which took place in Magdeburg, where 11th ranked ETB Wohnbau (6-8) lost to fourteenth ranked Magdeburg (4-10) in a road game 74-78 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But ETB Wohnbau won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Magdeburg made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Naturalized American forward Jeramie Woods (195-91) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Lamar Morinia (183-81, college: MSU-Northern) chipped in 10 points and 8 assists during the contest. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (202-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: N.E.T.) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Magdeburg moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Karlsruhe. Loser ETB Wohnbau keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Finke Baskets. Magdeburg will meet league's leader BG Goettingen on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ETB Wohnbau will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
