Regular Season Round 11: Osnabruck - Herner 70-81

Date: December 15, 2013
The game in Osnabruck was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Herner TC (6-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Osnabruck (4-7). Herner TC defeated Osnabruck 81-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Herner TC. Osnabruck managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Lisa Koop (197-85, college: Winthrop) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Vanessa Abel (165-89, college: Duquesne) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import swingman Kendall Rodriguez (183-91, college: Pacific) added 7 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Osnabruck players scored in double figures. Herner TC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Marburg. Osnabruck lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Herner TC will meet Donau-Ries (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Osnabruck will play against ChemCats Chemnitz and hope to secure a win.
