Regular Season Round 7: Tim-Scuf - Astana Tigers 88-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Astana Tigers' (1-8) road loss to fourth ranked Tim-Scuf (2-6) 66-88. The game was mostly controlled by Tim-Scuf. Astana Tigers was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Astana Tigers 46-29 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-94) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Darya Zavidna (185-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Tim-Scuf players scored in double figures. The former international forward Ganna Zarytska (182-86, agency: Data Plus Group) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Kazakhstan forward Maria Protsenko (180-89) added 11 points in the effort for Astana Tigers. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tim-Scuf maintains fourth place with 2-6 record. Newly promoted Astana Tigers stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Tim-Scuf's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Elizabeth-Basket in Kirovograd and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Astana Tigers will play on the road against the league's leader Dynamo in Kyiv and hope to win that game.
