Very important is a road loss of third ranked P.Zvaigzdes (7-6) against ninth ranked Juventus (5-8) on Wednesday night. Visiting P.Zvaigzdes was edged by Juventus in a tough game in Utena 74-76. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-74. Juventus made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Strangely P.Zvaigzdes outrebounded Juventus 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by guard Edgaras Stanionis (192-88) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Aidas Viskontas (183-86) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds by center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) did not help to save the game for P.Zvaigzdes. Evaldas Kairys (207-90) added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Juventus moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Siauliai. Loser P.Zvaigzdes keeps the third position with six games lost. Juventus will meet at home Neptunas (#9) in the next round. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Lietkabelis (#10) and hope to secure a win.
