TED Ankara can celebrate finally their first win this season after 11 consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Botas (6-6) 79-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 28-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. TED Ankara made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Botas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shannon Bobbitt (157-85, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists and Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (180-89, college: Drexel) who added 21 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was international guard Pelin Bilgic (170-94) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the former international Saynur Tozlu (189-86) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. TED Ankara maintains fourteenth position with 1-11 record. Loser Botas keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Antakya. TED Ankara will meet higher ranked Konak (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Botas will play against Istanbul Universitesi (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
