Important game to mention about took place in Ankara. Ninth ranked ITU Istanbul (8-5) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Ankara DSI Era (9-5) 88-85 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ankara DSI Era. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 38-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Nigerian forward Ejike Ugboaja (206-85) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Isiah Brown (203-89, college: E.Tenn.St.) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. Swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Emre Ekim (208-80) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. ITU Istanbul moved-up to eighth place. Ankara DSI Era at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the second position with five games lost. ITU Istanbul will face Maliye Milli (#15) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ankara DSI Era will play on the road against Vestel (#3) in Manisa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
