Crailsheim Merlins defeated Kirchheim Knights 88-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Crailsheim Merlins. Kirchheim Knights was better in fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 assists. Naturalized American forward Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. The former international center Bjoern Schoo (213-81, college: Northern St., agency: Pro One Sports) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Bryan Smithson (183-85, college: NC-Asheville, agency: The House of Baller!Stars) added 16 points and 8 assists in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Crailsheim Merlins have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Heidelberg and Chemnitz. Loser Kirchheim Knights dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will face bottom-ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kirchheim Knights will play against Bayer Giants (#15) and hope to win that game.
