Regular Season Round 14: Ludwigsburg - Telekom Bsk 73-79

There was no surprise when 10th ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (6-8) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Telekom Bsk (10-4) 79-73 on Saturday. EnBW Ludwigsburg was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Telekom Bsk players scored in double figures. Finnish Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and American center Gary McGhee (208-88, college: Pittsburgh) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. EnBW Ludwigsburg's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Telekom Bsk moved-up to third place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Loser EnBW Ludwigsburg keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Telekom Bsk will face TBB Trier (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Walter Tigers and hope to win that game.
