Regular Season Round 12: SC Kryvbas - Hoverla 88-89 OT

SC Kryvbas (#10) forced the game against Hoverla (#7) into an overtime, but lost by one point 88-89 on Monday night. The game took place in Kryvyi Rih. But the guests from Frankivsk were better at the end. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 23-10 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 1-point victory in overtime. Hoverla shot 24 for 34 from the free-throw line, while SC Kryvbas only scored eight points from the stripe. Hoverla had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by SC Kryvbas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH) contributed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Hoverla's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Winsome Frazier (193-82, college: Mississippi St.) replied with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import point guard Solomon Bozeman (185-87, college: UALR) added 19 points and 8 assists in the effort for SC Kryvbas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hoverla (6-5) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Budivelnyk. SC Kryvbas at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Hoverla is looking forward to face Halychyna (#7) in Lviv in the next round. SC Kryvbas will play on the road against Mykolaiv (#12) in Mykolaiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
