Regular Season Round 12: Usak - Galatasaray 79-94

TBL round 12 most important game was a victory of Galatasaray over one of their biggest challengers Usak 94-79 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Usak managed to win third quarter 25-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray shot 66.7 percent from the field. Galatasaray had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 69.6 percentage. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 assists. British Pops Mensah-Bonsu (206-83, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) added 16 points in the effort for Usak. Five Galatasaray and four Usak players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray (9-3) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position having just two points less than leader Banvit BK, which they share with Karsiyaka. Newly promoted Usak dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Fener.Ulker and TED Kolejliler. Galatasaray is looking forward to face TED Kolejliler (#7) in Ankara in the next round. Usak will play on the road against Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
