Regular Season Round 12: TED Kolejliler - Selcuk Univ. 89-87

Thirteenth-ranked Selcuk Universitesi (3-9) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked TED Kolejliler (8-4) in Ankara on Wednesday. TED Kolejliler managed to secure only two-point victory 89-87. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. TED Kolejliler looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by forward Caner Erdeniz (198-87) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Latvian guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) supported him with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) by American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) did not help to save the game for Selcuk Universitesi. Lithuanian guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four TED Kolejliler and five Selcuk Universitesi players scored in double figures. TED Kolejliler moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Usak and Fener.Ulker. Selcuk Universitesi lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. TED Kolejliler will meet higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Selcuk Universitesi will play against Olin Edirne (#9) and hope to secure a win.
