Regular Season Round 13: Dnipro - Azovmash 80-87

Date: December 27, 2013
Not a big story in a game in Dnepropetrovsk where 13th ranked Dnipro (2-11) was defeated by eighth ranked Azovmash (7-6) 87-80. The guests were already 14 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 28-18 last quarter charge of Dnipro cut the lead to 87-80 at the end of the game. Azovmash had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Azovmash especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by Dnipro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American power forward Coleman Collins (207-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Australian-Dutch power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) added 13 points in the effort for Dnipro. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Azovmash moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Halychyna. Dnipro lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost.
