There was no surprise in Istanbul where 7th ranked TED Kolejliler (8-5) was defeated by third ranked Galatasaray (10-3) 85-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. TED Kolejliler managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Galatasaray especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. International Furkan Aldemir (207-91, agency: Beo Basket) fired 16 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Serbian Zoran Erceg (210-85) chipped in 15 points. Montenegrin-Serbian center Vladimir Golubovic (213-86, agency: Beo Basket) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Serbian point guard Aleksandar Rasic (195-84, agency: Beo Basket) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Galatasaray. Defending champion maintains third place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Banvit BK. Loser TED Kolejliler dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Usak. Galatasaray will meet Olin Edirne (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TED Kolejliler will play against Fenerbahce Ulker (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
