Regular Season Round 13: Mykolaiv - SC Kryvbas 92-71

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Mykolaiv (4-7) smashed at home 11th ranked SC Kryvbas (4-9) 92-71. It looked good early as SC Kryvbas took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mykolaiv had a 25-9 second period charge getting the lead and SC Kryvbas were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-92. Mykolaiv had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Mykolaiv brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (179-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists. Latvian swingman Zanis Peiners (203-90) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Mykolaiv's coach Agris Galvanovskis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Anatolii Chelovan (206-91) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Winsome Frazier (193-82, college: Mississippi St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for SC Kryvbas. Mykolaiv moved-up to eleventh place. SC Kryvbas at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost.
